Walkthrough the bygone era and float onto the emerald islands of Andaman; which looks like another part of the world. This adventure full tour covers South India’s most famous temples, museums, beaches and age-old heritage. Leave the city life stress behind and indulge in water sport activities like Scuba diving in the Radhanagar and Elephant beaches. In these 14 days, we bring to you an ultimate journey full of surprises, adventure and overwhelming memories.
Day 1: Chennai (Arrival)
Arrive Chennai Airport and complete your check-in formalities. Head towards the selected hotel and spend the day at your own ease. You can simply laze out or take a walk to see places surrounding your hotel. Dinner and Overnight in the Hotel.
Day 2: A Day in Chennai
Leave your hotel after breakfast to see the beautiful Chennai city. Known as the 'Gateway of South', begin the tour with St. Mary’s Church, Kapaliswara temple, Theosophical society, Sri Parthasarathy temple and San Thomas Cathedral Basilica. On your way, visit Mylapore, Kalakshetra, Fort St. George and houses of the Secretariat and Legislative assembly of Tamil Nadu. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Chennai - Mahabalipuram
Check out from hotel early morning and drive towards Mahabalipuram. Enroute, stop in the sacred city of Kanchipuram. It is an important center of Jainism, Buddhism and Hinduism. Kanchipuram is famous for temples of Kamakshi Amman and Ekambareswarar. It is also the land of Silk weavers, as they have taken this art beyond the country borders. Continue the journey till Mahabalipuram. Retire for the night in the selected hotel and dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Mahabalipuram
After breakfast, begin the sightseeing of Mahabalipuram. The city is known for the Shore temple and Bhagiratha Penance. Evening is at leisure, and you can go to the local markets for buying handicrafts and also relish South Indian cuisine. Back to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry
Get up early in the morning and begin the road trip to Pondicherry, which is around 2 hours from Mahabalipuram. In Pondicherry, you can visit the internationally acclaimed Aurobindo Ashram. Spend some peaceful time there knowing the great saint Rishi Aurobindo. As the sun goes down, return to the selected hotel.
Day 6: Pondicherry - Thanjavur
For the recreational tour today, begin the early morning journey to Thanjavur, which is quite far from Pondicherry. In Tanjavur, once capital of Chola Kingdom, visit the Brihadeshwar temple and fort, Thanjavur Palace and Museum. Dinner and overnight stay in the selected hotel of Thanjavur.
Day 7: Thanjavur - Trichy
Leave Thanjavur roadways, towards the city of Trichy for another sightseeing tour. Attractions here are Rock Fort temple, Srirangam temple and Jambukeshwara temple. It is a great way to witness the typical South Indian Temple architecture. Spend your night in the selected hotel in Trichy.
Day 8: Trichy - Chennai
Check-out of your hotel and board the next train to Chennai. Spend the evening in your selected hotel. Relax or take a leisure walk on the Marina Beach, admiring its beauty. Dinner and overnight in Hotel.
Day 9: Chennai - Port Blair
Take an early morning flight to Port Blair. Transfer to the selected hotel and after some rest visit the famous Anthropological Museum. This place has on display various tools, art and handicrafts of the native tribes of Andaman and Nicobar islands. Now take a tour of the historical Cellular Jail, Fisheries Museum, Science Centre and then finally, Corbyn's beach. In the watch the light and sound show at the Cellular Jail, to know the story of the freedom struggle in India. In Cellular Jail, the stories are quite painful. Back to hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Port Blair - Ross Island - North Bay Island (Coral Island) - Harbour Cruise (Viper Island)
Cruise around the spellbinding Ross Island, Viper Island and North Bay. Begin your journey to Ross Island on boat. This island has a huge historical importance during the period of British rule in India. From Ross Island, move to North Bay Island, which is full of exotic coral and marine life. Explore the underwater on a glass bottom boat, and watch the flourishing marine life. In the evening, take the Harbor Cruise, to reach Viper Island. Spend some time here and take the return trip to Port Blair for dinner and overnight stay in the selected hotel.
Day 11: Port Blair - Havelock Island
Take a tour of one of the most beautiful islands across Andaman, the Havelock island. Travel on a ferry from Port Blair to Havelock island. Relax for some time and visit the Kalpathar beach, for a breathtaking evening. Go back to your selected hotel in Havelock for dinner and overnight.
Day 12: Havelock Islands - Port Blair
Post breakfast, head to the Radhangar beach that is counted among the most beautiful beaches in Andaman. Relax and sun or bath at the beach, it is great for swimming. By noon, take a ferry and return to Port Blair. Dinner and overnight in the pre-booked hotel.
Day 13: Port Blair - Mount Harriet
Enjoy your breakfast in hotel and head towards Mount Harriet, the summer headquarters of the British. This place is at the highest peak in South Andaman. As you reach the top, enjoy a nice and fascinating view of the islands and sea. Spend the evening with shopping in the local markets. Dinner and overnight in hotel.
Day 14: Depart Port Blair - Departure Chennai
Take a flight to Chennai and another flight to go back to your hometown.
